Title: brainiacs
Post by: Bitzer! on October 26, 2010, 03:09:55 pm

Hey brainiacs out there!

can anyone tell me how to find the difference between a C20 and a C30? Is there any obvious difference and are differences when ordering parts? ie brake discs (rotors?) etc?

The Vin tag (as discussed 2 1/2 years ago!) bares no resemblance to my truck. Slowly trying to work my way through the got, can make and need to get list!

thanks as always

Cheers Chris,

How did I know it wouldn't be easy!

The chassis & cab will be wheeled into the garage soon, the beds already in the back garden ha ha ha

Could you remind me where I'm looking for the frame number? Under the cab passenger side somewhere?

cheers

I just went out 5 minutes ago and compared my 1985 C30 and 1985 C20.  I measures the height of the channel before the gas tank on each truck.  The C-30 is 8 inches tall and the C-20 is 6 1/2 inches tall.

Cheers guys, I'll have a measure up when it stops raining and can lift the cover. Yup good old UK wet and miserable (and the weather's not much better!)

You'll have to find a ruler there in the U.K. that is about 40 years old because we measure things in "inches" here.  ;D

I thought about giving the results in Centimeters.... but I didn't....

generally on the either side ( 2 PNs) and it is usually under the driver/passenger section where it is flat.

Ok plucked up the courage for a silly question! (I did warn you!) what does PN stand for?

Okie dokey, I've measured the frame just behind the cab and it's 8" so I'm assuming I've got a C30  :)

The next part of the question is how do I know if it's a 3/4t or a 1t or is it back to th frame number?

cheers all
