I was showing this guy my truck recently and he told me the engine can't be the original engine in the truck. I have an 87 350 TBI and he said since the bolts on the valve covers were on the top instead of on the sides of the covers, mine was a black label or crate motor...not sure exactly what he said. Does anyone know this for certain. I was told when i bougth the truck it was all original.

your tbi engine should have black valve covers and the valve cover bolts should be in the middle of the valve covers. like my sub...2nd from last pic, though you can't see it very well.

I know for certain that the guy doesn't know as much about Chevy trucks as he wanted you to believe ::) Lorne

Ok, thanks...then he's wrong...mine looks just like that. Scared me there for a minute. Thought i got took!

my TBI in my 87 K5 had the central bolt black valve covers. So you have the correct ones.

I was looking for a spare tire for my C10 2wd and had a guy tell me Chevy never made a 5on5 bolt pattern...not everyone's an expert.
