???I think you should top off the gas tank and leave it at my house with a singed title in the glovebox. lol
That looks like an awesome ride. Welcome to the site.
It looks like it's running without a fuel filter.
-
oh really ? how would I know where the fuel filter was?

Welcome to the site... If it is an original motor in the truck it is a 305. I can't see the dipstick on the passenger side picture so if there is one the drivers side the engine has been replaced and you could have a 350 in her. I like that green color, looks great.

dipstick is on the passenger side. :( And thanks! I love this sight. I wish I knew where to get all of tthese cool custom parts other people have, bowtie interior and stuff!

Clean off the block under your alternator. That will have the engine # on it and will tell you #1 if it is original to the truck, and #2 if not it will tell you the application that the engine was out of. There are 350 engines that have the dipstick on the passenger side just none that came in 1/2 tons in 1986

Wow, Grim...good eye. Looks like the original fuel line, fitting and all has had a fuel hose attached to it and fuel hose run to the back of that carb. (looks like an Edelbrock). Normally the fitting is cut off the end of the steel line and a fuel filter added into the fuel hose. Nice lookin' truck btw.

I don't see a filter. It would have to be an in-line filter. If you go to the auto parts section near where the carburetors are you'll see some with nipples on each end (some clear, some chrome). There are also some in boxes with the regular fuel filters that will work. If you're not sure describe to someone what you have and they should be able to help. Make sure you install it so the flow is in the correct direction. It is possible to install them backwards.

The casting number on the back of the block near the bellhousing would help you ID the engine. Like this
