I have a 1984 K10, 305 700r4.
Can I do away with my EGR valve and related vacuum lines and switch. Does this have anything to do with the torque converter lock up system? I would like to do away with some of these vacuum lines but I am not sure about this switch mounted just above the EGR valve. It has 2 vacuum lines on one side and wires plugged into the other side. Thanks for any help.

It depends on the emissions laws. If it's stock and you just want to remove it, you're not doing yourself any favors.

Will this make no difference in how it runs? Better or worse?

It will basically pollute more and may cause pinging. Need more info on your set up and your goal to offer better advice. Again if it's just a stock set up removing it doesn't make much sense especially if you ever go to sell it to someone who has emissions laws.
