Title: 454 in 4wd headers
Post by: 74chev4x4 on November 04, 2010, 12:03:49 pm
So I'm gonna put the big block back in my truck, the 350 runs great but I guess I was spoiled with the big block first and can't beat that torque. Anyway I have searched all over and I want to get a clear answer from someone who has done this. What do I need to do to get headers fit in my 74 4x4 with the 454. Get the motor mounts for the Bhutan that bolt to the motor but can't find ones for the frame that r bb  specific? Also what brand header have u guys used for this? Thanks.

You just needs headers for your application.

What's the Bhutan?

Sorry I posted from my phone it doesn't like bb and likes to replace it with funny words. So I only have sb mounts for the bb will this work with headers then?

Sanderson headers model BB8 are specifically designed for a big block in a 73-87.  Go to sandersonheaders.com and search BB8.  As far as the original mounts, they will work on my 396/402 but I'm not sure about the 454.  I plan on using these headers on mine.  They have a 3/8 flange and are made in the USA!
