my neighbor is selling an 84 gmc 1/2 ton staite 6, 4 on floor, that was recently primed and only has 90 thousand miles on it. it needs brake work on the front and rockers are starting to rust out. is 150 a good deal on this???
-
Around here that is less than its value in scrap steel. How could you loose? :P
-
Do it
-
I would get two at that price.
-
it runs, and is drivable and the body has minimal rust. Im planing on using it for a daily driver if i get it and do a little brake work. what do the straite 6s get for milage if you arn't pushing them?????
-
dude that is an unbelievable deal! so jealous
-
For $150 for a running truck... I wouldn't give a rat's patootie about mileage, at least right away.
I've never had an older Chevy 6, but a friend I knew with one said he averaged 15-17... if I remember right.
-
I've seen anywhere from 15-19 with the same set up.
-
my dad said he had a 66 chevy with a strait 6 that got 2o-22 miles to the gal, wont find out if i got it until tuesday. ;D
-
I would think a 66 weighed a good 500lbs or less though than a square body. Just look at how much bigger a truck they are.
-
they are defenatly sleds, my budy has one 8 miles to the gallons with 305
-
It literally costs me more to fill up my truck :-X
-
good point, still trying to find out if i got it since it was on a bid and it has to be aproved first. cant wait.
-
yup I had a similar truck bare bones not even power steering or brakes and I averaged 16 mpg. It has 4.11 gears too.
-
didn't get it >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(, the guy doing the bids found one at their board meeting for just a little more than i put down!!!!
-
That sucks, hope you find another one!
