I am from manual to power on my truck. I have been working for two days trying to get some juice to my doors. Heres what i have done so far. I bought two doors from different suburbans and took all the wiring that ran between the two. Anything that was attached to the wiring for the door i took. I even looked over a suburban truck and studied the wiring to the fuse box. That truck had two wires from the doors running to a power source. I really have no idea what i am doing. I have been trying to get power to just one door (passenger) and I can't get anything. I checked the fuses and all the wiring and It seems to look good, but nothing.. I have no idea where to go now. I am about to call an electrician and have him come over to fix it right. Any ideas? Please help. If you have converted to power from manual I would love to know how you did it. Please help. My truck is a 79 k10 and the doors are from a 90 suburban.

Pretty sure the driver's switch needs to be hooked up. Get a voltmeter or test light and make sure the power is where it needs to be.

get a multi-meter,
turn it to dc volts, check for power at your source in the fuse block-it should be powered with the key on and no power with the key off, if you dont then find a source that does, if you do then the rest is just running wires and connecting to your switches and motors. electrical troubleshooting is just about narrowing your focus.
so check;
-power from your source
-power at your switch
-power at your motor
in that order.

in your experience does the drivers side door need to be connected in order for the passenger door to work? I have been trying the passenger door only.
Thanks for the help.
