I have an 87 Silverado with a broken needle. I thought it would be easy to find a replacement, but it seems no one sells them. I've checked local salvage yards & they'll only sell the entire gauge assembly for $50. I've looked on eBay, & actually bought one that I thought would work, but it's way too short. I've checked a local parts store & they looked at me like I was stupid when I asked them if they sold them. I guess no one else has ever had a broken speedo needle. I can't even find one on Google, anywhere. Is there a place to buy one that I haven't found or am I going to be forced to pay $50 for the entire unit?
Thanks-

Well it usually doesn't break unless someone is tampering with it so it's not a very hot commodity. eBay would be your best bet for a used cluster or look in the classifieds here if you're a site supporter you can post in there as well.

broke mine-it was faded almost to white barley touched it and it fell off and broke into about ten pieces- then touched my gas guage to see if it was the same and it broke too. Got mine from a local speedometer shop. See if you can find one around where you are.
