Title: Roll your own or buy a pre-cut piece?
Post by: Skunksmash on November 15, 2010, 07:15:58 am
Which choice of carpeting would you do for your truck? Would you just buy a roll and cut it and roll it out yourself, or would you buy a quality one piece set? My thoughts are that it would be hard to make it look right if you cut it yourself. Then again I know little about rolling carpet.

i think with all the contours of the floor, it would be too much of a hassle to try and do a DIY carpet. Plus a new purpose made one looks great.
just my thoughts anyway

Save yourself the trouble and get the ACC carpet from Chris. You have to do a little trimming to get a perfect fit, but it's molded for the shape of the floor and it's very high quality.

Molded and not because I sell them, because I tried the cut to fit and it requires MUCH more time to get it right.  Molded set drops in make a few trims and your done.

Me personally I already bought an AAC molded set. I often help a buddy who is also restoring one of these, and we were wondering how it would turn out. But I tend to shy away from lots of unnecessary work, so I'll be trying to talk him into a pre cut set.
