I have an antenna inside the windshield but I don't have the button thats supposed to be glued to the windshield. My question is can I just get one off a junkyard donor or does the wires inside the windshield actually come out of the windshield and attch to the button. Mines an 87 V10. Thanks

It's not glued on. There is a button that it clips onto.

OK and the button is glued to the window. Right? Do the wires from the antenna attach to the button or is the signal picked up through the glass?
-
Why is the actual connector missing off of the glass too?
-
Yeah I have all the other parts that run from the stereo all the way to include the female connector. Just don't have a button on the glass. Just a gob of dried glue where the button used to be.

At this point you have 2 options... 1 a new windshield because the button connects to the wires, or a fender mounted antenna which works better anyway, get one off a newer 90-91 Blazer or Suburban. My $.02

Dang I was afraid of that. I really don't want to put one in the fender though just a personel preference. Well a new windshield it is :'( . Thanks

If the button is stuck in the connector pop it out and use a rear window defrost repair kit and glue it back on.

I can get another button but will it still pick up the signal if I just glue it to the window?
-
The repair kit is just like the rear window defogger. It has essentially a printed circuit that connects to the existing wire. It will work like a charm.

Sweet thanks I will definitely give that a try.

Good luck, the only time I had tried it, the reception wasn't there.
-
Just make sure you get a good connection.

I don’t have any pictures but I had a problem with the button on my truck it was there just something was worn out so it wouldn’t stay connected with the snap so I went and got me 5’ fire sticks and put then on the side of the tool box got the appropriate adapters to set them up to am/fm and went on my way works a lot better than the window or fender antenna. But like vile said if you don’t have a good connection then nothing will work

Thanks Will do. What are fire sticks?
