hello there im 16 from Cape Breton Island Nova Scotia Canada , I have a 84 C10 2wd , currently in the process of rebuilding from ground up , have stripped the frame completly and wire brushed every square inch and coated in in tremclad paint , and same with the rad support , I have multiple parts trucks including a 82 Scottsdale 6.2 diesel , 83 GMC Sierra 4x4 with the 4 speed standard and gear driven 208 aluminum Transfer case , I bought that truck for the running gear alone , for a future project , here in eastern canada it is very difficult to find a solid 4wd frame , due to heavy salt usage on winter roads , but back to the build;p , Intead of using the stock radiator for that truck I replaced it with the rad from the 6.2 , there is a 305 sitting in the mounts for now , I have a 4 speed saginaw standard , but have been hearing that they dont hold up as well as the muncies , so im debating on going with the auto TH350 , I intend on swapping the 305 with a Lt1 350 out of an old 9C1 Police Cruiser , im hoping to bring the horsepower up to atleast 350 , this truck will be a daily driver and a racer. I have full intentions on marking my initials in rubber at the school parking lot;D oh and my name is Brennan Curtis lol , thanks guys

Welcome from ND
The np208 is a chain-driven case. If the 4-speed you have is an SM465, they are one in the same (Saginaw Muncie 465) and it is a nearly bulletproof transmission. Sounds like a cool project.

Hello from Illinois

Why not use the 6.2? Turbo it, and tweak the Injection Pump and you'll be able to spank the LT1, and still get the mileage that the 350 could only dream of.

i have the 465 in my truck pushing 38s with no problem the only problem is not as many gears as i would like. welcome from maryland

Welcome, pretty good selection of trucks for a 16 yr. old! I know a turbo will wake up a 6.2, but spank an LT1?

thanks everyone , and im not sure how many kilometers are on the 6.2 but theres 700,000 on the truck itself , and I just checked in with a R and D performance to inquire about getting a 350 block bored , 265$ and I have a 307 crank , so im thinking 327:) a short stroke motor should run a bit higher RPM as far as I know. oh and hello fellow maritimerr!
