I'm working on my first Chevy truck. I just bought at 76 C20 454 4bbl Custom Deluxe. I think it's heavier that the normal 3/4 ton since it has a GVWR of 8,200 or 10,000, I'm not sure which. Anyway, my front brakes and rotors are going and I'm trying to figure out what to replace them with. Stopping is important to me, and I will be hauling and pulling in this truck so I really want good brakes. Do you guys have recommendation on what's the best brand for rotors, calipers, and shoes for a 3/4 ton like mine? How about rear brake parts? Thanks.

Personally i like Duralast. Haven't had any problems with them. My dad has them on his truck and he does a lot of hauling and pulling.

No one is going to say EBC? I would buy them just because of the advertisement...

I had raybestos ceramics on my 92 dually for 5 years and 85k without needing to be changed. That cemented them in my heart. I towed a car trailer from San Francisco to San Bernadino twice a month too.

FYI, I picked up a set of used rotors for 40 dollars that were in good shape that came off of a 1992 1 ton. I'm having them turned this weekend and will slap them on. Would've had the ones coming off my truck done, but the brakes cut some pretty deep grooves in the driver side rotor and so I can't use that one.
