Title: starter problem?
Post by: 77 cc lb on November 28, 2010, 09:13:16 am
i went to go start my truck and it turned over a couple times and on the third try nothing. went to look at the starter and the gear was stuck in flywheel. loosened up starter, gear went back in and tightened it back up and the gear got stuck in flywheel again. there's no noise or anything. could it be my starter or is my battery? it was cold yesterday thinking it might be battery, but it is new.

Sounds like a starter problem but put a charge on the battery and see what it does

I had the same problem last year.
I spent the day swapping 4 good used starters into the truck.
I tried shimming the starter every which way.
Turned out to be a negative battery cable.
Replaced the cable and it started fine.

Sounds like it was everything but the cable. Glad it's up and running.
