Who used PPG Paint and how did it turn out? Also what types of problems do I need to watch out for? I plan on spraying my burban metallic silver, its already in primer. Anyone painted in a torpedo heated garage? During the winter? My father made a makeshift paintbooth with real thick plastic, we closed off the middle bay of the garage, except for the ceiling, it could use some paint anyway;D. This will be my first time spraying a "professional" paint job, I shot my dads dilapidated work van with white rustoleum right before he traded it in. All your advise is helpful, thanks.

Ppg is one of the best around. The first car I ever painted was with ppg and it turned out pretty nice for a 16 yearold with a harbor freight paint gun. Just make sure to use their reducers and catalysts. There can be issues with mixing brands

My truck is done in ppg-looks great.
i would be concerned somewhat about humidity-make sure you heat the garage and truck a day or so ahead of time to reduce condensation etc.
I would spray under the hood, between the box and cab, inside the bed, doors, door jambs etc first to get practiced up and spray the rest that matters more all at once. If this is a re-spray I would maybe paint the inside of the box as practice.

I stopped using ppg when the paint reps couldn't figure out how to shoot it

I planned on heating the garage for about a week straight while I sprayed everything and let it dry. My Burban was black from the factory, so I was planning on just masking the jambs and leaving the hood on when I sprayed. That's what I did with the primer. Talk about square footage, a burb is HUGE. How much paint should I get? I was thinking 2 gallons ought to do it, since its just the outside.

It may not even take that with a hvlp (high volume low pressure ) gun, but it'd be good to have some extra for touch ups.
