Title: What would 32x11.50R15 tires be like on this truck?
Post by: TandocTools on December 04, 2010, 11:45:02 am
I need some new tires and I was considering a set of 32x11.50R15 BF Goodrich mud terrain TAs  for my 75 2wd C15 stepside, but I've never shopped for "off road" tires before.  My truck is at the factory ride height with the heavy duty rear leaf springs.  With 10" Crager SS wheels will these even fit?  I don't want to lower it, but I'd like the tires to fill the wheel-wells a little more and give me better off-roading capabilities.  I have a th350 with a 3.08 rear, new HD Bilsteins and front and rear swaybars--what will happen to the ride quality or characteristics (how does this affect the highway RPM?) if I go with this size?  What is the "biggest" off-roading tire I can get to work with my setup?  I tried to find some pics of this setup without any luck--Does anybody have any?
Thanks,
WT

I like the way a 31 10.5 fills the wheel well on a 2wd, my dad did the same thing on a burb and they looked great, but man they hydroplane, any puddle.  they did excellent in the snow though, they don't sink as much because they are wide.  I know a guy who put 32 11.5 on 15x10 rims and they look terrible, the sidewall is pulled out toward the rim bead, makes it look pointed at the tread, I recommend putting that size on an 8in rim.   I'll see if I can get a pic, but no promises, we finally got our first snow here, so he probably put it away for the winter.

Well typically if u go to a bigger tire size ur fuel economy will go up on the highway, down in town.  if u have smaller tires u got to have rpms up to keep going, with a bigger tire it rolls longer.  if u know what i mean.  mud terrains are a good mud tire.  11.5 should fit just fine on a 10in rim.

Front tires on this truck are BFG 32x11.50R15.  No rubbing scrubbing at all.
