Do the radiators with plastic tanks hold up in the 73-87 Chevy trucks? Thanks
-
Mine has so far.

A sleep better knowing I have a fully welded aluminum radiator...

I agree with the fully welded aluminum statement lol

Yes they hold up fine. Racing, all aluminum radiators are more prone to cracking. I've never had to use one, even for my small blocked S10. It has a plastic tanked Vette radiator in it.

I have dealt with plastic radiators in European cars for the last 10 years. They seem to last at least 100K miles, if not more with proper care, just like a full metal one. They also run a 2 bar system (max about 30PSI) and run about 220 degree's. I have a plastic tanked one in my C10 with no issues, I also saved the old full brass one...... its in the garage as a spare if need be. I wouldn't worry about it at all honestly.

If you plan on yanking and jerking on the hoses a lot, then plastic might not be ideal. Otherwise, they seem to hold up just fine.
