OK so I'm in the middle of putting a new lock cylinder in my truck (which has been a huge pain). i finally got the old one out and new one in and connected but when i turned the key it wasn't connected internally. Turns out that the gear that the cylinder turns is broken. Does any one know how to get to and replace that gear?

Like this one? Is it a tilt column?
-
No its just the original non tilt or telescopic column. like this

every time i find something about it it never matches up because mine is a 73 and they changed a lot of things in 74.
