Title: Family resemblance
Post by: velojym on December 17, 2010, 07:49:43 pm
Kinda neat how they keep it looking like they're still related.

Which one do you mean?

All the years where all the front ends of chevys looked like the avalance...

Hated that look...

When they started making all the trucks look like that, I hated it.

No reason for all the trucks to look like the avalanche.

I liked the look also. I think they are the only tough looking model years since our square bodies.

I thought they looked like asian trucks...
I prefer the New look for "tough" looks-

The last decent looking IMO is the 2002 HD series, after that I think they went down hill, My $.02 (http://thumb3.webshots.net/s/thumb2/0/28/23/65002823MKqBqf_th.jpg) (http://rides.webshots.com/photo/1065002823033994403MKqBqf)

:D Have you been drinking, Vile?  Those new Furd Super Dooties are UUUUUUUUGLY.  I think the current Ram and Silverado/Sierra are the handsomest half-tons on the market today.  I never liked the looks of the GM trucks from '99-'06.

I dont like the angles of the new Rams. The avalanche had way too much plastic on it too

Well not until I'm replying now but the stacked lights, the mirrors, the tall bed skin with large arches cmon... You don't think GM was trying to compete with Ford Here? The new GMC's look better than the Chev's

Never did understand why the make the wheel gap so big like they expect for the suspension to travel 2’

I liked the 2006 front ends the best out of the newer trucks. It was a subtle change but it made a big difference.

X2 GMC is much better IMO. I saw a black one, lowered 4/6, tinted windows, taillight covers, black grill, looked awesome.

I don't think the back of my truck would have as much gap as that white one even if I jacked the rear up by the frame.

I agree, the GMC's look better.  then dodge, then chevy, and I wouldn't have any ford because of the grilles.

Are the beds really any deeper on the new Chevys vs our trucks? It looks like they would  be about 3 feet deep from the outside but I've looked inside some and really can't see a big difference.

I agree with that! I pretty much like the looks of every generation of Chevy truck except those '03 to early '07s. My next least favorite are the '60-'61s.

I pretty much don't like the styling of ANY GM product from the early to mid '00s. They had some stylists in that time frame who's style just doesn't agree with my tastes. I have even said IMO that is one of the big reasons GM is in such poor financial shape. It doesn't matter how good the vehicle is built, if it's ugly people won't buy it. Obviously some do like that styling, but they seem to be the minority.

I do like the looks of the late '07 to current trucks though. For most of the second half of this decade, they are turning things around and making better looking stuff. My wife and I bought an '07 Pontiac G6 new because we liked the looks of it. I thought the Malibu (same platform but older styling) was butt ugly at the time.

Sorry. I'd posted it when I had a very limited Flickr account. Here's a low-rez version I pulled off my Facebook account. If I run across the original, I'll put it up.
