Title: Electrical
Post by: Bowtieordie_big87 on December 18, 2010, 06:04:14 am
I was drivin home tonight, playing with my auxilliary lights.  I have 4x 55 watt lights on the roll bar, 2x 100 watt lights on the bumper, and 2x 30 watt lights on the bumper.  I have them wired through relays to 4 switches.  I have never had a problem running them before tonight.  I shut them all down and about two minutes afterwards my truck died, everything.  the engine stopped running, all dash lights, headlights, cb radio, stereo, everything went out.  it will still crank over like it did before, when i turn on the ignition it has just enough juice to light up my tac, and cb, i can also turn on my auxilliary lights, but the dash lights, headlights wont come on and it wont run.  I checked all cables between battery, starter, and alternator and they are all in good shape.  My guess is either a faulty alternator, probably over worked from all the lights bein on at one time, or possibly a moduel in the distributor? Any feeback is greatly app[reciated. Thanks guys. ???

couldn't tell you how many wires I've toasted on the headers in my lifetime on these trucks LOL.
