Last summer my 86 got hauled to my buddies shop in VT to get the cab bodywork done. I haven't been posting anything about the truck because nothing has been happening with it. Well, he had quite a few issues he was dealing with and the truck just sat there. When he told me he was packing up and moving I figured I better make plans to get my truck home. I stopped by one day to find all my sheetmetal laying in the grass with my cab filled with rain water. I wasn't too happy but didn't call him on it because I knew this was not like him and didn't want to lose a lifelong friendship over a truck. Today I was able to go get it with a flatbed and it is at least at my garage...outside with snow on it but it is here at least. I'll have to do a few things over but other than that it is no worse for the wear.
I was able to keep a good friend and get my truck back today...Can't wait to start work on it myself again.

I'd guess he might be having woman troubles.
-
I think he would have had woman/family problems if he didn't go.
Here is a pic of how it spent the summer.
What it doesn't show is the mud flap covering the carb, the rag in the top of my tranny, the open brake and fuel lines...and so on.
I'm gonna chalk it up to another lesson learned and just be glad I still got everything cause it was in plain site from a main road.

If he left your shoot like that, He wasn't much of a friend.

That's what I was thinkin too. Those women can cause a guy to do some strange things...

Well that was the only thing that I wasn't going to do myself only because he is good at it and had a shop for it. He just happened to be there when we went to get it and offered when he got settled into his new place we could lug it to NY. I declined. I don't do bodywork but I will do my truck myself before I let it go anywhere again.
I am stoked to get it in the garage and do it though!

This wasn't a paying job for him. He was enough of a friend to do it because he wanted to. He just couldn't make it happen with all that was going on and I'm not sure what the deal was with the stuff laying around outside.
