Been thinking of a front hitch for the truck, so I can have the hitch haul in back, and the bike rack in front. I also have a receiver mount with a HD geared boat winch in case Murphy strikes, or for dragging stuff into a trailer, etc.
I did quite a bit of searching, reese, curt, valley, summit, uhaul, ebay, etc. No joy. 88+ they have, but not 73-87 anymore. I see two previous posts here where folks made custom hitches. (the hidden one is pretty slick) As much as I'd like to play with my welder, I really would rather bolt something on and not spend a weekend or two fabricating a proper hitch. Perhaps there's another hitch application that is close enough to drill holes or just directly weld on?

You will have to fabricate one up. Finished my front hitch install just last weekend and it came out great. I used a rear hitch, cut/welded/drilled/re-cut/ground/re-drilled/re-cut ect. Have yet to use it, but I also have a heavy duty 2 spd boat winch mounted to a reciever hitch. Along with a basket, bike rack, motorcycle rack, soon a lift hoist ect.
Search for a post a few months ago with some details from another member.
Good luck,
MJ

That's the link above that I was thinking of. I soooo tried the hidden hitch behind the lic plate, but my receiver wasn't the best fit. It was just right for a below however, so that's the direction I went with.
Thanks da67goatman for the idea and insperation to start the project.
