Title: What are some colors that would look good?
Post by: 86silverado on December 24, 2010, 09:24:31 pm: I am currently starting to get my truck ready for paint and i was wondering what colors other people have painted theirs, mine is the tan with the red in the middle and then tan again on the bottom with a maroon interior. I was leaning towards a silver or dark gray with a black interior but I would like to see some pics and hear some ideas that other people have. Thanks

Sorry to hijack the thread but what kind of seat is that.

Also I would really like to see one of these trucks with a new chevy gray or the Purple. I think that would be easy to find and would look neat on one of these older body style trucks

Post by: 78 Chevyrado on January 04, 2011, 07:18:43 pm: When in photobucket, hover over the pic you want and in a second a box will pop up around the pic. theres some smaller boxes inside of that. Look for the one that says "IMG code" and where you see a link next to that, click it once and it will change to copied. Then you can paste the link directly into the forum post

To paste it: right click in the reply to post box where you type your message and then select paste in the lil box that pops up. then you're all set.

1985 k20 sitting on 33/12.510/16.5's
3 " blocks in the rear
2" leafs up front (gives it a slightly raked stance)

Motor: 355 SBC
Vortec heads
small .460 lift cam
forged speed pro .030 over flattops
stock rods and crank
600cfm holley
LT Headers straight back to 40 series flows then dumped

Dad Bought it new and it was my first truck. I typed up the history of it it on here somewhere. Thats about it that I can think of...

Maybe looks a little more aggressive? i dunno. Its not THAT much of a rake, 1 inch from one end to the other doesnt add up to much. Just my .02 cents i guess lol

Post by: 86silverado on January 07, 2011, 04:34:13 pm: i will get more recent pics uploaded, inside looks alot better now, still need to get a new floormat, dash fixed, inside painted and outside, and doorpanels list goes on. and i did manage to find the right steering wheel, that steering wheel is alot smaller than it looks.

Post by: 86silverado on January 10, 2011, 04:12:51 pm: im hopin my truck will turn out as good as these ones have, maintenence man did you have any problems with the black? like any imperfections, I dont know how much a silver or dark gray would show either, but black is what everyone says is the hardest to get perfect, but it always looks good in the end, im still kinda deciding on what i am gonna do

Any black vehicle owner will tell you that black is beautifu when clean but a paint to keep it that way. the silver shows all the rock chips from the big mud tires.

Post by: 86Chevy3 on January 12, 2011, 08:00:47 pm: Mine was originally midnight blue from the factory an I plan on going back to it just a little darker and more of a metallic than original, it has black interior with a new dash and black ostrich seat. My dad also bought mine new in 86 and gave it to me as my first pickup.
