just wanted to know if i could run the hot wire to the distribution block on the firewall and to see if you guys could put some pics of where you mounted the radio itself if you dont mind thanks i just got a cobra 25 given to me

I mounted mine in my center console and ran wires under into the console. I will be putting a 3 port out let in there so there are no wires exposed, just the mic.

that looks cool ive got a bench seat now but probably gonna put 90s bucket seats out of a suburban in there so then ill get some kind of center console any body else got pics

Got no pics but used to have a cb in all my trucks. The last one that I had was regular sized radio mounted under the ashtray. I didn't like it there at all. When I used to have the smaller sized radios I cut the back of the little storage compartment on the dash bezel and mounted the radio on the bezel for one truck.

I like goatman's install a lot!
I will be installing a CB in my burb as well. I have been planning to install one of the overhead shelves, and putting the CB up there, as well as building a switch panel for additional accessories, and a bezel for tach, oil temp and trans temp gauges.
But, if "someone" would come across with a pillar pod gauge set-up I would seriously consider goatman's idea on the center console install. I have a bench in mine at the moment, but plan on a set of buckets and a console in the near future (if I can ever find a set of blue burb seats in decent shape).
My real decision in where to mount my antennae. My last burb had the barn doors, and I mount the 102" whip to the top hinge on the driver's side. It worked like a champ. This burb has a tailgate, so no hinges to use. I'll probably run a mag mount Wilson 1000 or something til I can decide on a more permanent location for the whip.

Heres where I put mine! ( if the pic works)
There was already holes drilled down there I think for a trailer brakes unit because theres wiring there, I put a mic holder thing in with one of the screws holding the dash plastic in, and have a 4' whip antenna on both mirrors. Kinda want to move them behind the cab on the bed sides, saw a truck like that and it looked cool.

Got a small CB unit in my flip down ashtray. The mic is kept in the glove box.

Ha, a good use for that ashtray. I have ambitious plans for my flip down ashtray. I'm gonna weld up the whole, smooth it out, and paint it. Then I'm going to stick more power jacks along with some USB, and mini USB ports for charging various phones and devices. Also gonna see about wiring up a single 120v outlet to it. So when you open it you just see all these useful ports/power options. I think I'll get good use out of 'em.
