Now that the holidays are over, and 2011 is officially here its time to ask "- What are you going to do to your truck this year?". I have set several goals for a update to my 77 Cheyenne. I hope to have a rendering available soon, so I will keep the details quiet until then.
Meanwhile, What are you going to do to your truck this year?
-
I may wash them. Maybe. It's been about two years since i washed my 'burb, and about 4 yrs for my '79 Big 10 pick up. ;D
-
This year will be Body work and Paint, then accessorizing, Center caps, trim rings, cab lights, Running Boards, Mudflaps, Tailights, Finish stereo, ect. Might even get my dream trans built, wouldn't bank on it though.
-
I have one final rusty spot on the driver's side bedside to weld in a patch panel. Just minor body work from there and finally get my paint on. If that goes well I may get an engine put in before the year's out. We'll see, but either way my truck should be happy after this year!
-
4.11gears, 3600 stall, LT headers, magnaflows, rebuild suspension, bucketseats.
-
Swap axles for some lower gears, install rear posi, new paint, build a console with some cup holders, custom bumpers, hitch, and spare tire mount, possibly hook the A/C back up.
-
New tires and paint FINALLY
-
I want to get the body work done to my cab then put it back together and make it run so I don't have to push it in and out of the garage anymore ;D
-
I'd like to save up money to rebuild the motor in Emmy, but with all the issues my 88 is giving me I might be blowing my money on that. At least I working on a truck (just not a 73-87) :)
-
I've been stockpiling parts all summer, So I'm hoping to get the cab back together, finish the the frame repair, Rebuild the SM465 and the 205. I would also like to change the oil pan gasket and sandblast my headers, change the core support. It should be a good year ;D
-
My 74 k10 step side I plan on mechanically having it perfect. My 81 k10 fleetside, fix the blown head gasket and the tranny leak so I can get it on the road again.
-
Body work and paint, new chrome front bumper, new front turn signal and side marker lamps and a Rhino Lining in the bed. Then just cruise and look good till my wife makes me get started on the house. LOL!
-
Doing a frame off paint job. New bed wood, new roll pan and lights, New grill, bumper and trim.
-
I will be removing my inline 6 and sm465 to make room for a new 350 and 5 speed. After that is up and running I will be adding a 12" memphis shallow sub and two new amps to the stereo. I am hoping to have that done by July, from there who knows....All normal practicality and rational money handling goes out of the window when it comes to my truck.
-
Boy what a list: First is to get the Diesel ex cab running again, and hopefully have it recleared. Then I am wanting to get the 427/th400 combo put in my 76 choptop snb and get it running. Just gonna ratrod it out for now so I can drive it. Then it'll be bouncing around on body work between oldyellers truck, the extended crewcab, and the tan/black GMC. Thats the plan anyway.
-
These are on my "to do" list for the burb, but not necessarily in order.
Finish the drive-train install. (about one weekend left on that one)
Rebuild the steering components.
Add 4" lift kit.
New windshield
custom front bumper replacement w/winch
custom rear bumper replacement
swing away spare tire rack out back
cargo rack on top w/integrated light bar up front
drawer type storage system in back
new headliner
overhead shelf up front
tach, oil temp, and trans temp gauge install
minor body work
paint job
stereo and CB install
bucket seat swap (getting rid of the bench)
-
get my blazer back on the road and plow snow before the end of this winter!
-
Start to make my 85 pretty again with it's donor body, new mirrors/wheels/and core support to the 1991 look on the extended cab, and move my 86 from project truck and get it running with the V-8 and a 700R4 to driver status. Part out the rest and clean the yard up, 6 is too many to have....
-
Fix my starting issue for good repair little leaks and clean up wiring and just the truck as a whole.
-
My goal is to clean up this 454 and put it in my stepside. It won't be a 500HP motor but it sure will look the part.
-
Get the Burb painted, freshen up the interior and a small drop
Get Jamie's Blazer converted, dropped and running
Get the R10 swapped over to 6.0L/4L80E and running.
-
When my arm heals i,m going to start back on my stuff!!!!!!!!! ;D ;D
-
A pillar gauge install
Self Aligning Roller Rocker arms
MAYBE get my heads worked and new valve springs so I can get a little more raunchy with the cam
-
Get the heater working!
Fix the windshield washer, get the temp guage working, upgrade the headlights, swap differntial gears from 3.08 to 3.42 and add a limited slip unit and a new cover with a drain plug, fix the zip tied radiator mount, new center caps for the rally wheels, fix the passenger window, align the drivers door, replace the speedometer cable and work on the cowl leak
-
Need new brake light lenses with trim, cargo light lense and gasket, power lock switches for both doors, power window switch for passenger door, refinish door panels and plastic part of upper kick panels, get a dash mat, figure out some way of squeezing some power out of this 305, or just say F it and drop a ZZ4 crate in her and call it a year.
For now I just need to drive this thing till I build up some more money. I've already dropped well into the $8k range for parts, labor and paint now, and I didn't pay anything for the truck... I need to drive it a while to get some return for my investment.
-
get it road worthy, and eventually put a fresh 350 in it.
oh shackle flips and tires too.
-
I want to hear my truck run and drive it. I have High hopes. Then flatbed and paint
-
Finish the engine swap into my 80 and get the 73 parted out and have some money for some rocker panels and weather stripping.
-
Get the body off my 78 parts truck and put it on my 74. Get all the mechanical working in perfect condition..
-
Whenever I get this finished...

I'm gonna hopefully start buying up what I need to rebuild my engine and then hopefully a new OD tranny.
-
I plan on getting my 383 finished and get the darn thing back on the road. been almost a year now and it sucks!
-
turbocharged 5.3 and a small lowering job. come on decent weather.
-
Well, where do I start! Finish bodywork, paint, clean engine & paint then try to remember how it all goes back together!
-
I wanna get the 74 movin with a 5 speed, then exhaust and drop, maybe some body work.
Oh yeah, and maybe start the roadster project. I found a guy parting out a 79 longbed for a few hundred... ;D
