Title: Drac location
Post by: ehjorten on January 03, 2011, 10:16:09 pm
Anybody have information on where and how the DRAC would be mounted in a 1991 V3500?  I found it but and it is mounted to a bracket, but the drac and bracket are hanging loose.  It looks like it is mounted with two screws, but I can't see where.

Digital Ration Adapter Controller (DRAC).  It takes the signal from the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) and translates it into a signal that makes sense for the Speedometer, Cruise Control, and ABS systems.

If I remember right, My 87 had something like that mounted to the backside of the gauge cluster.  Might have been green.

It should be mounted directly to the speedo.

Okay...found the proper location for my '91.  The DRAC is mounted to a bracket (which I have) and the bracket is mounted with two screws to the backside of the dash, at the bottom, just right of the steering column.  Found the location in my factory Electrical Service and Diagram book that I got last week!
