Title: My 83 Sierra Classic
Post by: Slammed83 on January 08, 2011, 09:20:16 pm
First off i would like to say hello, I'm new to the site.

I bought this truck in may of 2010. Me being the common (at the time) stupid high school student bought the truck with a lot of problems. I put a new steering column in it before i could even drive it. I bought it for $800 which i think is a steal in this area for a short-wide with no rust. I have tried to find rust and there is none. It has a stock worn out 305 thats been through a lot. When i bought it the low speed clutches were out of 2nd and drive. Then around november 3rd i lost all forward gears forcing me to replace the transmission. In the process of doing so i also did a 5 inch axle flip kit. I am surprised that the truck turns heads although its very hard to miss. It is my daily driver and i Plan on swapping the motor for an LT1 after I graduate this may. Here are a couple of pictures, The first 2 are the day i drove it home, and the last one is the most recent.

Welcome from NW Indiana,  $800 for a rust free body even with the trans going out and tired 305 is still a deal IMO...

Thank you for the welcomes, I am having too many electrical issues as well as mechanical so I'm thinking a restoration is in order. Not to sound conceded but the last kid who owned this truck was an idiot and tore it up...

I second that, the 81 k10 I bought to work on this summer is full of idiot thingamigigs, it will take me a couple straight days just to tear all them out.

When i was bolting the column in the truck after i bought it i had a small electrical fire because he had grounded a wire wrong. I look at it in the aspect of it could be a lot worse than it is
