1974 K5, I'm waiting for my insurance check from the Yukon so I can fork out the $1200.

She's runnin a 350/350/203. If I can land her I'm lookin to throw a 205 or 208 T-case. Its up 4", but its blocks in the rear, that's gonna be remedied in short order.

That is one model I wouldn't mind having myself.  Have to love the full removable roof.

I've been playing phone tag with my insurance company for a week now, finally got a representitive on the phone today and found out that my check is being mailed tomorrow.

I tried to get ahold of the seller but he didn't answer. I really want to hook this up, these trucks don't pop up running for less than 2500... the waiting is the killer.

No such luck.  :( I'm not gonna see my insurance check until at least Monday and the blazer found a new home today.

I did come across a 77 dually that I'm gonna go see this weekend. Its been sitting since 2006, I'm gonna have to go thru the engine, but the price is right so we shall see. I just need to find a place to do the work. My apartment management my frown on me rebuilding an engine in the parking lot.

1977 GMC, C35. 454/TH400 184k on her, parked 5 years ago, not sure why.

i remember rebuilding a carb when i was 17 and a freshman in college in my dorm.  Now, most college kids know absolutely nothing about rebuilding anything car-related.  They know how to call a mechanic for everything though.
I yanked off my carb from my '68 mustang one day in a matter of minutes and had it in my dorm on my desk to rebuild it.  I puzzled everyone that i could do that--all nerdy type mind you. My room mate from New York didn't appreciate the gas smell for a while, oh well.  Just as quick i had that stang fired up purring like kitten.

Up until a couple years ago Az didn't acknowledge MLK day, I always forget.

I have an upstairs apartment, I'm strong but not hauling an assembled Rat up and down 13 stairs strong. If I do this at home it'll be a one day job on a Sunday, brutal but I've done stupider things in apartments.

i recall that...they were the last one to accept it after federal money for roads would be witheld had AZ not joined the rest of the country.  Heck, they still don't recognize daylight savings time.  What is it about AZ?

In Va, we got Lee/Jackson Day out of it.  I had Friday off and will have Monday off in recognition of Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson Day then MKL day on Monday. gotta love the 4-day weekends.

I'm not sure what this states deal is with it and a whole bunch of other things, no daylight savings either..

There's been speculation that what finally broke them for MLK day was NFL players threatened to not play in the Superbowl... but who knows.

the best thing in AZ is in Maricopa County, Sheriff Joe Arpaio---my hero!
I do like what AZ was trying to doing against taller odds reference illegal immigration...they are on top of matters there in my humble opinion.

Oh, and i failed to mention, my sub came from Scottsdale, AZ nearly 6 yrs ago, no rust whatsoever www.delbridge.net/suburban

I just need to find a place to do the work. My apartment management my frown on me rebuilding an engine in the parking lot.

Are there any self storage units around your area with 10'x30' bays. My buddy manages one near me so we get to fill the empty units with our stuff. Before I got my shop I pulled many of these trucks apart in 1 of these units. I just used common since and did it during the closed hours.
I still have my 81 stepside buried in 1 of these units until I can find the time to put a motor in it.

Not a bad idea fitz! I'll see if I can find one near my place. It'd help get my tool boxes out of my bedroom closet too! The gf would be much happier anyway!

As well as the dually, which after looking at yesterday is definetly worth the $750 asking price, I may pick up a 79 2wd Blazer roller from a buddy of mine for $500. No motor or trans or interior or top or... well its basically a rolling tub.

This will be the foundation for my barndoor blazer project. I'm trying to get a buddy to do a rear 3/4 drawing for me, it'll be a exercise in engineering for me and a big enough storage unit will be great to build it in.

Slammed, your gf will be mad that your spending all your time at the storage instead of with her! Just tell her that, and hopefully she'll let you keep the stuff in the apt. haha

As far as storage goes, most of them dont allow flammables in them so just watch what you spill. I kept my streetbike in one for 14 months during 2 deployments without problems.

She works 2nd shift three days a week, and goes to her parents in Payson a couple times a month. I have all kindsa time to get it together. What'll make her mad is when I start on the Blazer, and am wrapped up in the roof job.

The storage is definitely tight space wise, but as the saying goes, you gotta do what you gotta do. As Beastie pointed out, you have to be smart as far as the flammables and spilled fluids go.
