1) Why is the customer's "responsibility" to provide the "bulk" of the salary for the servers who often give average, not outstanding, service?

2) What is World Junior Hockey?    i've just never heard of this and i'm (a little ashamed to admit) i'm a hockey fan and former player.

Never heard of the world juniors :o its the under 20 world championship the US was ranked first going in ended up Bronze, Canada got silver And the Russians won. It takes place Dec 26th to about the 3rd of Jan. I also agree with your first point, up here we tip 10 to 15 percent depending on service, what was purchased etc. The author states that a 2 dollar tip on a $25 bar bill wasn't enough, I'm not sure on your standards but seems fair imo

My opinion is that the tip depends on the service. We see alot of people doing the minimum...Then they get a minimum tip. The wife and I usually disagree on the tips. She thinks 15% should always be the minimum. I always tell her that I work hard for my money and servers got to work hard for me to just give it to them. Good servers always get a good tip from me.
