Ok I have done a total rebuild on my truck, frame off etc. I know when i started that the 4x4 worked. I just bought this truck and tore it apart. so I know I didnt break it or damage anything. i have a 205 transfer case. all I know know is when i pull on the stick it doesnt go into 4x4. I have my hubs locked in, what did i forget to do? the wires that goes to the plug on the transfer case is all hooked up? any ideas?

Does the shifter move at all
-
yep shifter moves no problem
-
Does/did The 4x4 indicator light work
-
the light did work, now i cant seem to get it to come on?
-
Did you take the linkage off. Does the shifter move to 4x4
-
thats something i never tried, thanks alot! I will play with that on sunday. plan on doing some stuff to the truck than. i will post results. CHEERS

Ok I got it to work, I did what you said and checked the linkage. I remebered that I removed a 3" body lift that the PO had installed. When i removed the lift the linkage was to far ahead and was allowing the truck to engae. Loosen the nut and repostioned and all is good. the only problem i have now is I still cant get the light for the 4x4 to come on?

Check your wires, especially down by the transfer case to make sure they are plugged in. Glad to hear you got it to work.
-
I did check the wires at the case but I will go over everything again, you never know maybe I missed something
-
If nothing else works check the actual spot for the 4x4 light with power to see if it is not burned out.
-
I stuck the test light i it last night and I got nothing, but I didnt do much else as far as trouble shooting yet.
-
You may just have to adjust the linkage again. It could be close enough to engage but not make the switch.
-
Test the switch also make sure its getting powered then see if it works
-
How do I test the switch, not sure what you mean or how to do it. Do you mean the switch on the t case?
