hey guys im in need of some help. i got a 79 shortbed 1/2 ton. i got a set of 3/4 ton 4.56 axles to put in . is there any modifications i need to make this work? and im also ordering a new 8 inch lift. should i buy one for a 3/4 ton truck or a 1/2 ton truck? thanks for any help you can give me

If the 3/4 ton axles are out of a 73-87 truck they will swap right over. Order the lift for the 3/4 ton since you are running 3/4 ton axles, they will be better if you plan on using your truck for hauling anything. The only modifications you might have to do is to the yolks on your driveshafts.

Where you get the lift from you should be able to get those parts also.

Pro Comp, Superlift, and Skyjacker make them, dont know about other companies. Maybe Rancho and maybe Rough Country.

If the frame is 1/2 that's the springs you need unless you change the shackles over. Also why 8

Because 8 is better than 6!
