My 700r4 has about 300 miles on it and I don't like how it is shifting, it isn't right from everyone I have talked too. I have tried different tv cables, and adjusted them as said, and it still windes up almost to 3700 rpm before shifting, i hit 3rd at 45mph, and 4th gear not till 55mph, way bad. I have the factory cable, got it from the dealer, adjusted it , let it ratchet out and this is what I have. Why is it winding up so high? Is there something I cab do to bring the shifts down? thanks.
Vehicle in question is in signature.

I don't know if it is accepted to post this link or not, but it is some good reading for 700R4 owners. I personally bought the EZ valve spring kit and installed it in my 88 Sub and it made a big improvment on how it up shifted and down shifted. The tranny is still going strong after 60,000 miles of plowing.

If the tv cable is adjusted right try some lighter governor springs

so I put some more miles on it, its now got 420 on it. it got better, but only after I drive for 25-30min then its hifts smoothly and at much lower rpms. What could make it shift hard and high when I start driving, but get better after 25-30min?
