this is a size 13 shoe planted against the bumper so it sits pretty low in the front for a DD
(http://i939.photobucket.com/albums/ad232/bigruss_photo/Mobile%20Uploads/Photo0040.jpg)
had to rearrange the garage to get it in out of the snow/ice/freezing temps because the battery wasn't holding a charge
(http://i939.photobucket.com/albums/ad232/bigruss_photo/Mobile%20Uploads/Photo0068.jpg)
my half hour rendering but i think ima modify this to something a bit more old skool
(http://i939.photobucket.com/albums/ad232/bigruss_photo/Mobile%20Uploads/Photo0097.jpg)
that accumulated after about 30 minutes after making a quick run to the parts store
(http://i939.photobucket.com/albums/ad232/bigruss_photo/Mobile%20Uploads/Photo01142041.jpg)
new rear end i picked up super cheap
(http://i939.photobucket.com/albums/ad232/bigruss_photo/Mobile%20Uploads/Photo01201226.jpg)
after me and a buddy did the 2 inch drop shackles
and this paint will ooze over each square inch of this truck within the next year

There is a post on here of trucks with 18s
yeah i started the thread... only pic in there is a poorly photoshopped pic of a square on 20's... im just trying to decide so i dont waste money on something that im not going to like after 6 months..

new glass pack exhaust.... sounds good, just a lil louder than the one that was on there but has a decent little rumble to it... should sound better after i finish the exhaust... gonna end up going back to the Y pipe and knock about 5 foot of piping off because of my new drop...

found the paint for my "50 dollar paint job" its a nice Rustoleum Hunter Green... figured this truck is beat up and doest really deserve a whole heck of a lot spent on paint and body... just making it look decent, run great, and be reliable as all get out
-
Nice custom deluxe!
-
thanks... shes gettin tweaked and fixed up as i go along... i think my max budget for this truck will be 2000 bucks... so really not cutting corners just finding budget friendly fixes... 50 bucks for my exhaust, less than 50 bucks for my paint job... biggest part of the build is new wheels and tires...
-
You will have to post some pics after you get your $50.00 paint job done.
-
i will man... i got a buddy whos gonna help me this weekend finish up the drop and hopefully finish the body work so that next week we can paint it... just Google "50 Dollar Paint Job" heres the best one ive found http://www.rickwrench.com/index79master.htm?http://www.rickwrench.com/50dollarpaint.html
so yeah this should prove to be a fun experience

Oh no...
-
thankfully all the rust is in areas that are super easy to fix... thats all at the headboard and above the gas tank... theres also a spot at the back corner... its not bad but im debating on ordering a FULL bed floor or just say screw it and order either a Poplar or Red Oak bed kit... only difference is 20 bucks and better looks
-
That thing will look sweet with the Red Oak, and for $20, its hard to go wrong
-
im thinking the poplar because its easier to get locally in case i break a board or it starts to rot out... besides ima put a nice dark stain on it...
-
It'll be sweet either way. I love the look of wood beds.
-
right now im designing a flat bed that i can turn into a trailer after i get my bed fixed....
-
You must have moved your photos, all your original pictures are gone.
-
yeah my old photobucket account went over the bandwidth and really i dont feel like paying for their service when i can spend that money one something better... like my new wheels, every little bit counts...
-
If you have a Free Photobucket account:
1.Log into your Photobucket account.
2.Check your Monthly Bandwidth usage in the Account Usage panel at the left. If you've exceeded your limit, the logo replaces your images and videos.
Note: When you upgrade to Pro, or when your monthly anniversary date arrives, the bandwidth resets to zero, and your images redisplay.
If you did not exceed the monthly bandwidth allowance, or you are not a Photobucket member, you probably have an image or video incorporated in your MySpace background (or other website) that is hosted in a Photobucket member's album which has exceeded the bandwidth allowance. To prevent the logo from displaying, you must remove the code that was linked from Photobucket.
You can avoid exceeding bandwidth when you get a Pro account, which has unmetered bandwidth. However, Photobucket reserves the right to disable direct linking on accounts that use excessive bandwidth or otherwise abuse the system.
If you are not a Photobucket member, consider joining Photobucket and using your own account to host the images you want to display around the web.
See What is Bandwidth for more information.

heres my tailgate that i painted with the Dark Hunter Green Rustoleum that i am wanting to paint the rest of the truck with and pretty happy with the color choice... its a nice dark shade that will look good with the 16's im ordering soon..
-
Ok so I've run into a slight problem with my tail lights... Noticed that my drivers side light has a ground connection but the right does not. Do they share a common ground or are they individually grounded?
-
When you ordered your 16s did you have difficulty finding tires that will work with your drop? I don't know how it is elsewhere but I bought a set of 16s I liked and could not find a set of tires anywhere in the local shops around here for them! I sold them and went back to 15s (which are also getting slim in choices)
-
i havent ordered my wheels yet... waiting on the good ol' government refund... but i believe a 55 series tire will fit with no issues... have a buddy thats like a local C10 guru soo ill find out whats the best wheel/tire combo....
-
i got my bed back on tonight along with the exhaust finished off.... need to run my tail light wires and drop the bolts in the frame so that i have a solid truck again.... gotta redo my wiring on the passenger side tail light so that i have that one as well... gotta figure out why my turn signals dont flash but my hazards do.. any ideas?
-
have a buddy thats like a local C10 guru
Sounds like he would fit right in here on 73-87chevytrucks.com
-
all his 10's are 67-72... hes got a 71 Custom 10 short bed(he fully restored in it in his garage), daily driver is a 72 GMC Sierra Grande long bed with a few custom touches (01 Ram seats) and hes resto-modding a 70 Chevy Suburban that was a former Navy truck...

i will say that after seeing the paint i put on yesterday dried it doesnt look TOO bad, yes its a lil better than a MAACO job but if it starts to fade i can redo the paint easy...
-
looks nice! what did you do to prep it?
-
didnt do anything to prep the body.. the hood was in primer already... if you look at the doors you will see that there is a little white pin-stripe, just took a flap wheel where the stripes on the fenders and bedside where and then rolled 2 coats of paint on it, the hood has 3-4 right now and its pretty good but she will have a few more coats on it before im through
-
will have pics up tonight of 4 coats of paint.... as soon as i find my camera...
-
will have the truck finished with the exception of the wheels/tires and the face lift... thinkin bout ordering a RePro GMC grille that doesnt have the logo on it for the Work Truck Deluxe...
-
Do you literally mean you did no prep? Wash it with soap and water at least? No sanding?

no sanding... I did wipe the pollen off with a dampish rag(mineral spirits work great because it drys fast) if you have wax on your truck then you will need to wash that crap off... My truck would be finished tomorrow if I wasn't tryin to buy a new truck for the family... So the new finish date for it will probably be the middle of next month due to my work schedule

No sanding? You might want to keep your truck out of the car wash or it'll blow your paint off in chunks. Maaco is known for their poor prep, but they probably sand all over at least somewhat. We used to get cars in the body shop all the time with sheets of paint missing from their Maaco paint job. They would always say the same thing: "it looked fine until I went through the car wash, now I need it repainted!"

Don't plan on takin my work truck through the carwash anyways man... It's a truck, not a trailer queen so I'm not worried about it flaking man. Even the wife won't take my truck through the carwash...

trucks been put on the back burner thanks to work... shes at around 90% complete and thanks to me only having 2 days a week off and the recent random storms its kinda hard to do bondo work with the crazy weather.... but i picked up a 95 Isuzu Rodeo for the wife that this time next year will be BAGGED and sexy...
-
Haven't been on here in forever... Guess I got to busy working on my scion and kinda have up on my truck... Welp here's some recent pics out the damages my truck has taken since October...
hit a tree moving in to my new house

And teaching someone to drive tore up my bedside and busted a tail light
(http://i1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc486/Sirheavyduty/c2029233.jpg)
As you can see the rolled on paint has held up pretty good and I may actually wash my truck tomorrow and clean the bed out
