While I am cleaning up the firewall, paint, hiding wires, etc, I noticed that the "flapper" to the fresh air is broken. It is connected to a diaphragm that opens and closes it. Are these available or do I need to fabricate one?
Thanks

I haven't seen the flappers available as repopped parts. You'd have to fab one, junkyard one, or catch someone parting out a truck and get it cheap. The latter is how I got replacements for my '71. .

Get a donor unit

Are you sure it is broken? Have you taken the heater box off of the firewall? That door is connected to a diaphram via a small plastic piece that is bolted to the metal door. The plastic piece is connected to a flat metal rod with a rivet. Why do you say it is broken? Doesn't function properly?

Oh yeah, it's broken at the seam where it bends. Junkyard time!
Thanks all.
