Title: Wiper Motor Pig Tails
Post by: Don_T on February 04, 2011, 10:20:52 am
Does anyone have a source for replacement pigtails for the wiper motor for a 1983 Sierra Classic with delay wipers. All my wiper problems come back to intermittent poor connection. Wipers not turning off, delay not working, washer not working etc.

See if this web page helps, Don. It's for 1984 thru 96.

I couldn't locate the pigtail for 1983 trucks on the list. Maybe you can. Here's the website.

It's probably the motor.

Or the switch on the stalk.
The wires tend to fray inside the insulation where they enter the column from the stalk.

It seems to be the pigtails. When I manipulate them the motor works properly but not for long. The motor is a new one from A-1 Cardone an the delay box is a new GM part I found on Ryder fleet products. D6355A  I'll take a look at powerpiranha and see what I can find. Thanks.

Anyone try to put the newer wiper system in an older model?
