Here are some pics of my new toy. It is my budget project (havent set the budget yet) Since it was finally nice I pulled it out of the garage to snap some pics so I figured I might as well post them here. I have a bad hesitation that I think is a vacuum leak but its still dang cold so I havent tried to trace it out...

Love your new toy. 8)
You need to find the hesitation before next week, they are calling for a snow storm here in Ohio, and what fun it would be to blast through the snow with that monster!!!!

very sharp looking truck for the money you got into it
-
I really like the stance of that truck and the two tone paint.
-
I like it! Now its time to replace the rest of the blue ovals with something classier, like bowties! ;D
-
What size body lift is on it? I'm leaning toward a 2" in the future.

lol I was brought up on Fords... My grandfather owned a dealership for a while. although my dad had a 78 GMC 4x4 and thanks everybody... Ill have to measure it today for you but i think its about a 2 inch. the only thing I dont like about the body lift is the fact that the gas tank is visible.
-
I'm just playing, I've had a bunch of fords, kinda lookin at one right now too. Prolly gonna pass on it, but I like the 70 body stylep

well you will be glad to know that supposedly i/we am getting a 78 GMC Camper Special. 350 with the 4spd 4x4 but it is going to need completely restored. It was my fiancé's grandfathers who worked at GM and ordered the truck. I am excited to restore it but its going to take some time and money.
-
So are you going to sell the truck you have now or ?
-
if the war department allows me to keep it I wil... I can make room in my garage for both of them and the other 3 that are currently in my garage... If I can I will put something in the house garage (neither truck fits)... But the older one would be a build for her cause she was the one who wanted it I just gladly said yes because this is my favorite style of chevy truck

That's a nice rig.

and so it begins...
-
the goal is that the GMC will become more of a show truck restoration and the chevy will be a fun toy for me to drive and hopefully find some 4x4 trails....

Very cool rig.

thank you Sirs... I appreciate the praise of the truck... and my future brother in law talked to me today about the 77 ( sorry thought it was a 78) GMC and asked if i still wanted it since i got this one and i said heck yeah... that one will mean more to the family than this on since it was their grandfather's...
-
just a little update... got the tailgate on the truck and it looks pretty good since i havent painted it or really adjusted it... the truck is finally running great now i just need to adjust the linkages for the 4wd. I used it to hillbilly plow my drive since we got like 8-10 inches of snow last week. she is worthless with the big tires without 4wd though in the snow... anyway here is the pic of her with the tailgate one....

well I sold it. I got a decent profit and am bringing home a 77 GMC Camper Special 4x4 with a 350 and a 4spd manual. with the 2 trucks I just didnt have the room with my other cars and it didnt have enough sentimental value to keep it. The guy that bought it seems like he will actually drive it (I'd rather see it driven then sit in my garage). The 77 is my fiance's grandfather's old truck. I am pretty stoked to get started with the resto on it but I think I will be looking for a nice southern c10 body to swap to it. It depends on what the body man says about the cab, fenders and bed i will definitely need... I will start a new topic when it comes to my garage....

That's a shame, but I know what you mean, too many toys - not enough time or space. Would be interested to see the new one...
