Well spring is just around the corner and it will soon be time to get my 76 K2500 inspected. Before I get that done I am going to do a tune up on it. I want to put a new intake and carb on it and dress it up a bit. Just wondering what you people are running for a carb and intake combo or anything you suggest. It has a 350 in it that is stock.
-
dual plane manifold like Edelbrocks Performer and a 600 cfm carb.
-
I'd say a dual plane and 500cfm Edlebrock. 600 cfm is a bit much for a stock 350.

True

This is what I just ordered. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CMB-03-0199/
Found a bunch of good reviews on it and the summit tech said I could return the just the carb if I was not satisfied. Mine is a 350 bored 30 over, stock cam. I have ran a bunch of 600 cfm's on stock 350's with not problem?
-
I dont think you can return it if its used.
The math formula for carb size comes out to around 500 cfm for a stock 350, so with the 600, your not using all its potential. Nothing really wrong with it. Just tune it right.
-
Jets and metering rods will lean it out to maximize its potential.

I just dyno tuned my 350 with a 770a cfm holley and a and a 670a cfm (edelbrock performer vortech). (Btw my 350 is just a little upgraded from stock.) the hp and torque #'s didn't change between the two carbs after jets were properly matched. I went with the 670a for quicker throttle response and vacuum etc. So you'll do just fine with that set up, it looks really well matched for what you want to do and it leaves a little room if you want to make other improvements down the road.
I also found that running a 1" open spacer between the carb and intake really helped even out the air fuel ratio between banks.
You pretty much have the Summit brand of the set up I have so I would think it would help yours as well.
-
Ive got an edelbrock 600cfm that I would trade for a dirty old Rochester 4bbl in a heartbeat.
-
I've got the performer 600 and the dual plane air gap intake. I ran those stock for a good while.
-
I"m running an older Edelbrock Dual plane intake with a new 650 CFM AVS Thunder carb with really nice results. I still need to fine tune it in the spring, but it bolted on and ran right out of the box which I like! I got it all used off CL for less than half of retail!

just to clarify it is a 670 holley street avenger and the intake is the edelbrock performer rpm.
I did also increase the jet sizes on the 670 to get it to run at its best.

if you haven't found anything yet you might want to look at BG Demon card they are the best in my mind. Ive ran Holley and edelbrock. demon seem to run smoother and get more power out of them. i run a road demon 625 om my 350 it has 9.5 to 1, a voo doo cam street dominator. and I'm getting 16 mpg on the high with it and my truck will get up and go. it has 33's 3.73 and a 4 speed Manuel

Kinda like saying blonde is better than brunette. Its personal preference ;D

dont take this wrong, but edelbrock cards are for people how cant work on a high performance card.
