Title: help! cragar mag rim size
Post by: txchainsawgogi on February 12, 2011, 08:44:17 pm
my old cragars will work on my 79' C10... the spacing is 5x5. im pretty sure the tires on the rims are 235/60/14.

what are the tallest tires i can put on a rim this small, for a truck this big??

any info would be good!

EDIT: ARE THESE TOO SMALL FOR A FULL SIZE CHEVY C10's BRAKES???

I believe 27 x 8.5 x 14 is the biggest I have seen.  TSL used to make a 29 " for a 14" rim but they no longer make one that big.

im checking out my local discount tire website and cant seem to find anything other than 235/60.

any suggested tire sizes? i usually have always had large tires on large rims, so... going small is foreign to me. i dont want low profiles by any means. maybe just a little taller(and just a tad fatter if i can) than 235/60/14.

If nobody chimes in go by your local tire shop and ask them to see their sizing chart and ask them some questions.

You can actually look up a tire calculator online and it will let you play with different sizes to see the look you want and how it compares to other rim setups!
