Title: what compression ratio and cam shoud i run on my 383. build details inside

Forged Bottom end 383

scat 4340 forged H-beam rods
scat 4340 forged Crank
Brodix Track 1X heads 2.10 intake/1.6 exhaust full roller 68cc combustion chamber
optimal rpm range for the heads is 3500-7000

I need to figure out what pistons I should run flat or dished also what cam do you guys recommend?

once the motor goes in the truck it will no longer be a daily driven street truck just a play/mud truck.

That is a lot of head flow volume for a mud truck.  Brodix recommends a minimum of 11.5:1 for those head and a roller or flat tappet cam.

been looking at a lunati solid roller.   Truck will no longer be street driven when motor goes in.  Will be running VP C12 108 octane

I know I can build a big block easier for the HP I am looking for but I have 2 4bolt main Small blocks and itchin to be built.

your cam should match the rpm range recommended on the heads, and your pistons should match the recommended compression ratio assuming this will be naturally aspirated as well as all other components. You may also want to zero deck the block to help get your self to the recommended cr. I'm guessing 12-13 to 1 cr this means you'll use a domed piston
look for a compression ratio calculator online they are easy to find this will help you get to your desired cr
