Hi All,
I have a '78 Cheyenne Step-side with twin tanks, and my fuel gauge has stopped working.
I have had the gauge tested by an instrument technician and is working correctly. My auto electrician has tested both sender units and they are showing a voltage reading. So somewhere in between there is a fault.Any ideas?...........

Have you checked the circuit board?

Just tagging onto this thread as I'd like to know too!!! When mine reads a quarter I put fuel in. Not worth the risk. I ran out once thinking I had loads, but luckily just as it ran out I was able to coast into a fuel station.

Success !! At some stage someone had incorrectly or dislodged one of the wiring connections at the back of the dash, so it was sitting on a slight angle and not fully plugged in. It just took a few hours to track the problem down. Thanks for the tips everyone.... ;D
