Monday night a freak wind-storm blew through our area here in Puget Sound. It was quiet and then all of a sudden it was howling and rockin' the house! Lasted about 45 minutes and then just pouring rain.
Anyways...Tuesday morning as I was heading out the side door of the garage to go to work I noticed that one of the kids' toys was sitting outside. I thought, what it this doing outside? How left this out and didn't put it away?! Then I noticed that my 12'x20' canvas carport was completely gone!!! Holy****! Looked around and saw it 18' away on the other side of my '77, standing on end and impaled on one of our huge Big Leaf Maple trees! :o
It had flipped completely over the top of my '77 and was standing up in the tree behind the truck! This car port has survived many a wind-storm and was even staked into the ground! It ripped it out of the ground and blew it away! It had even survived the December 7th, 2007 wind-storm we had where there was hurricane force winds with gusts over 120 MPH (my brother lost half his roof in that one and many timber tracts were wiped-out like the hand-of-God).
It was still dark and I couldn't see much, but it appeared that my '77 had got away without a scratch. The only thing I could see was the passenger side, rear cab corner trim got knocked-off and was laying on the ground. However, when I got home after work I noticed that the windshield was cracked. Could have been much worse!
