I have been looking online for a front receiver for my 1989 Suburban 1500. I have contacted two dealers who have told me that they do not carry anything that will work for a 1989 Suburban. I am fairly certian that one is made. I would think that a front receiver made for trucks 73-87 would work. Anyone know or have any ideas?

Hey thanks for the link. Looking for something that I don't have to fab but probably isn't going to happen I guess. It seems I have seen this generation Chevy / GMC with front receivers. Wonder now if they have been modified to work.

I had not considered until now maybe an aftermarket front bumper with built in receiver.

Unless you buy a front bumper with one already in it, all others I would guess would have been customed fabbed.

have an arc welder? Get some angle iron and make a small frame that will bolt up to the frame of the sub. Then weld a receiver to the small frame built from angle iron. If you dont have an arc welder, someone in you town does. Just jot down some measurements and design one. Harbor Freight or Northern Hydraulics sell simple receivers you can bolt or weld on.
I welded some angle 3/16" iron in the shape of a box frame and it is bolted to the front of my chevy that I used to carry two marine batteries on the front of my truck for camping and stuff. Something similar can be built and weld a receiver on it. That way it can always be removed. Look at the front of my chevy pickup...
