I installed a/c into my non a/c cab a couple of years ago and everything works great. I have had a part left over, not sure what it was or what it does until now. I'll post a link to the picture and what I'm looking for is someone to explain where and how it is installed. Thanks http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NOS-1973-87-CHEVY-GMC-TRUCK-AC-Air-Inlet-VALVE-DOOR-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem5642a498baQQitemZ370485270714QQptZVintageQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NOS-1973-87-CHEVY-GMC-TRUCK-AC-Air-Inlet-VALVE-DOOR-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem5642a498baQQitemZ370485270714QQptZVintageQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories)

Hey, I need one of those. I call it the "flapper". It mounts on the passenger side of the truck underneath the cowl vent cover. You should see 2 screw holes on the top of the cowl. The "flapper" goes down inside the fender. It lets fresh air in. I don't have a pic but I can try to get one later.

Fresh air door actuator and I agree it goes in the cowl on the pass side. When you select max A/C it should close.

When I was sealing my cowl I saw that thing and wondered what the heck it was? Nice to know! :)

but where exactly do I access this? Will I still have this hole if I didn't have a/c from the factory?
-
Its under the cowl panel. My cleaning the cowl post will show it.
