#8 George Mason University playing #9 Villanova in second round of the Big Dance Friday afternoon on TNT.
Virginia put 5 teams in the Big Dance. GMU, ODU, VCU, Hampton, Richmond----3 from the CAA for the first time ever having 2 at large bids (GMU and VCU).
I can't see us doing a repeat of 2006 to the Final Four, we are in the toughest frekin bracket. If we beat Villanova, we're taking on #1 seed overall Ohio State....that really stinks. Especially since Mason only has one starting senior. Already looking forward to 2012.
go Mason!!! Mason Nation!

I like this sports illustrated writer:
predicting the Final Four to be made of Mason, Richmond, San Diego State and BYU
The first Final Four without majors? Hey, it could happen this year

Mason beat Villanova. Next game, against #1 Ohio State. Not bettin on that one.
#12 University of Richmond upset Vanderbilt.
Virginia Commonwealth U. beat USC Trojans then VCU beat #6 Georgetown by 18 points.
My alma mater, GMU, and the two colleges nearest me in Richmond, are stayin' alive.
I love March Madness.

Richmond, VA has two teams in the sweet 16. That's pretty cool--Va Commonwealth and Univ of Richmond. My school, Geo. Mason, couldn't scale Mt Everest last night, the #1 overall seed, Ohio State....those guys are giants. But, w/ only one senior, they'll be back next year and hopefully wont have to take on the #1 overall seed in their second round.
March Madness continues...

Wow, VCU makin' the CAA conference, and Richmond, VA, proud. Just made it to the Elite 8 by taking down Florida State Seminoles.

VCU looked dang good against #1 seed Kansas. Now in the Final Four. Only the second CAA conference team to make the final four, Mason '06 was the first, both teams being the only time 11th seeded teams or higher made the final 4. VCU may bring Richmond a national championship.
