Title: 416 head question
Post by: screamin86 on March 17, 2011, 05:30:19 pm
Alright I'm running a set of 416 gm heads on the 350 I have in my k10 the motor is bored 040 with 26cc dished pistons with stock deck height and I have the heads milled 020 and running 016 shim headgaskets and the heads have springs good to 520 or 550 lift I don't remember right off without looking at my papers from when I ordered them . My question is where is the point where x amount of lift will start pulling the stock press in studs? I ran the same 214/224grind cam in a 305 with 416 heads that were milled but I had screw in studs and 1.6rr. If I ever decide to bump it up with a bigger cam or throw on some 1.6rr on this motor I don't want to risk the studs pulling out. I'm kinda itching for a little more from this motor without changing heads or pistons.
