Title: 82 chevy 4barrel quadrajet carb
Post by: deadokie21 on March 21, 2011, 09:42:25 pm
ok.. i have an 82 chevy shortbed 4x4 pickup. Has sb 350 and a 4 bbl quadrajet carb. got it rebuilt and haveing a problem with it running. The vaccum lines i know nothing about and i think they are hooked up wrong. It floods and seems like pressure is building and pushing gas out. i can start it in the morn once it boggs and pops so timing may be off. but i cannot strt again once it dies cause it seems to flood. Can anyone help find a digram for the exact year i find 84 but not 82 need smog. if theres an easier way without smog parts ill do it and just pay the money to get it past my own wayy lol. any help would be great tyy.. or anyone who has pics of their own vehicle witha  quadrajet that can show me the lines and were they lead more then appreciated. can email me as well at andrew.valentyne@yahoo.com

Of course you need to get the vacuum lines sorted out, but that would not cause the carb to flood.  Either the float is adjusted improperly, the needle/seat assembly is not installed properly or is not in acceptable working condition, or the fuel pump is putting out too much pressure.

If you had a professional rebuild the carb, call them up and tell them it's flooding.
