Title: had some fun today
Post by: screamin86 on March 25, 2011, 12:44:11 pm
well fridays the the day i take the trash to the dump and one of the only couple days a week i drive the truck. so after i took the trash i decided to let the truck stretch its legs a little and see how the carb adjustments and timming adjustments i made helpe in this cool air we had today. i went down a old country road and launched it off the the foot brake at 2400rpm and this was my results.

Makes you feel like a kid again, doesn't it?!!  Do you have posi or are there two tracks because you feathered the parking brake?

its a open rear but ive instances with alot of older gm stuff where it will lock in both after you have done a sharp left turn or backed up. that road on the right in the picture i had turned onto it and turned around to come back the way it spun and mabe doing that mae it lock in both but i took off from a stop sign after driving straight for a bit and it did the same just before this. i didnt power brake it though just brought it to the highest i could footbrake the 2800 converter without tires spinning then let out of the brake and floored it. ive never heard of putting the ebrake on. i was surprised it spun both really though lol. this truck helps keep me sane till my car is done lol.

Maybe my age or being frugal but it just looks like a waste of good rubber ;)

Well I do agree but I didn't expect as much as it did and I only paid $40 for those tires about a year ago lol. I don't do this often either.

lol i know but she is used to a subaru 4 banger.  my truck has a 305 for now when it finally goes bad im going with a gmpp 350 thats 290 hp.  that should be plenty to pull a 4000 pound camper and 2  4wheelers on top of the diamandback cover.
