Title: No longer on the fence about the frame------yep, it's me again!
Post by: edonprewitt on March 29, 2011, 07:43:02 pm
OK, just a little help from the experts out there.   Finally fell off the fence and have found an 86 4x4 frame for my bent frame 87.  The guy has already taken the whole truck apart in chunks.   He has asked me if I want him to install the frame.   Well, that would help alot right?  What range in $$ should I be looking at to replace the frame.  The frame is currently almost bare, and he has a lift in his garage.   Just thought someone out there would have an idea...........just don't want to continue to get the perverbial shaft after the attempted straightening fiasco.
Thanks in advance
Don

Just got back from looking at the new frame and I have a question...........what is the difference between the 1980 4x4 frame and the 87 4x4 frame?   Seems to me the exact match was the 81-87.........
Thanks in advance

body mounts are different, crossmembers don't have the openings in them to make the truck lighter.
