Title: Researching truck numbers
Post by: Cheyenne on March 30, 2011, 04:02:24 am
Whenever I get a classic car/truck I check the numbers the vin and than go from there. The truck is a 1980 Chevrolet Cheyenne k10 titled in Alabama very little rust. I run the vin and 7th number is a J being Janesville WI to me that throws me off a little bit. I'm located by Chicago and you think it was made at southern plant not WI? Did they make trucks north and ship them south. I'm alll about the history of s car/truck as it tells the story.. I run the paint codes and engine but the J set me off a bit any ideas?

4x4's made in the north makes sense to me as that would be the bulk of the market.
