Well its been about 9 years since I had knee surgery from a skiing accident. Blew my Acl meniscus and a month later broke my patella. Well last week during bowling I bowled like 6 strikes in a row was only on the 7th frame though this is going to be a good nite then for some reason I couldn't get even a spare for the next couple frames finished with a 219 so next game I tried to straighten my game out only to bowl a 104 lol ouch next game I was able to pull out a 169 so the next day my knee was killing be though it was weird but thought it had to be the weather. But it didn't go away went to the docs today they took xrays the the doctor come in and I tell her about my skiing days, she had a relieved look on hey face and said that's why your knee cap looks that way. But then she tells me I have arthritis behind my knee cap and suggest cortisone shots. I give in knowing it won't feel good in my joint but she says it will be ok. She get the needle ready and freezes the area then sticks me I'm almost screaming at the pain them she starts pumping the cortisone in. I'm cringing now. She's done and says get dressed (bad part I was in my shorts) and meet her outside to show me the X-ray. By this time I'm startto burn up skin is getting wet and sticky I'm feeling nauseous. Could say a word she doesn't even turn around to see me and she steps out knowing what I'm feeling ain't good I hop of the table and sit in a chair feeling worse I know I'm going into shock. I get tired real fast before I can even react I'm out. Wake up seconds later it didn't hit me that I blacked out till I got to my truck lol heck of a day

You woke up in your truck?

I think he meant he blacked out in the chair, woke up and walked out to his truck and then realized he blacked out. Sorry to hear that Irish, I know how cortisone shots feel, they hurt like hitting your own finger with a hammer. :-[

Lol yeah I blacked out in the chair. The once I got to the truck it hit me what happened

Wow in a way I'm surprised they let you drive home on your own.

Irish, that really sucks. It sounds like you could have set a new personal bowling record score that night ;D
Seriously though, I fractured my pelvis and crushed my L5-S1 and sheared some tendons and ligaments in my SI joints on a train-up for Afghanistan and had to have several cortisone shots since. I warn you: take it easy. After the first block of shots I could walk normal for the first time in 6 months so I did whatever I wanted. When it wore off in 2 weeks I wanted to die. During that time I didn't feel any pain, and pain is your body's way of saying stop. You can make it worse because you can't tell that it's hurting you long-term. Also cortisone shots can cause arthritis all by itself, and acid bath your connective tissue to nothing, so use in moderation. Good luck to you man.

yeah I know when I got my knee surgery they sent me home with pain pills I trashed them from day one I didn’t want anything usually don’t everyone who knows me knows if I take a pill I need it. About passing out the bad part was they didn’t even catch it they still have no ideal
