YES I also have one of these trucks in a stepside. I also am looking for parts to restore such as decals or stripe kit, spoiler and fender flares that came on these trucks. If you find where to get such parts or if I will let you know. Mine is a 77 GMC stepside.

As far as establishing value on it, its only worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it. Try getting it appraised and toss it on eBay if you're lookin to sell it.

Hey, gregcars. Instead of using the url codes to post the pics, use the img codes.
 [ img ] http : //i1100.photobucket. com/albums/g420/gregcars/IMG_1597.jpg [/ img ]
without the spaces, or use the "IMG" selection from photobucket originally.

Thanks guys...the truck looks great in photos, but the paint is showing its age and i don't plan on painting it, so i want to drive it and enjoy it. plus i restored the matching olds pace car for my dad last year.

Very nice looking trucks, so how did you end up with so many pace vehicles ?

Having these two pace cars from the same race was dumb luck! I have had the olds for 4 yrs restoring it for my dad in Vegas . The night before we were leaving for Vegas to deliver it i got a call from a friend who said " I know a guy who has a cool 70's gmc truck he wants to sell " the rest was history. I'm a sucker for a clean nice old truck.

Are you sure that isn't a repaint? I don't recall ever seeing one with a visor. Looks cool
Title: Re: 77 indy pace truck
Post by: gregcars on April 12, 2011, 09:31:28 pm
Good eye !! the visor is painted to match the trucks stripes and screwed to the roof. the org. stripes are still on the top of the truck. i'm stuck with the visor or i'll have to repair the holes in the roof

My stepside had a visor on it too when I got it and they poked some serious holes in the roof. Luckily I plan on repainting it and can fix then. When did you get this truck? I thought I saw this truck on auction a while back or was it a different one? Have you seen the stepside version?

This truck came from a little garage in a small town and just had blankeys thrown on it had been in and out of there for 20 yrs. I am the third owner and put the indy lettering on it . Is there a number or code that ident. this trim package ?? glove box door ?

I would think there is something in the RPO sheet indicating it being an Indy 500 truck.
I would say it would probably be worth $10,000 to the right buyer, of course with a matching Olds to go with it, that would be you.

It's missing the Indy wings on the door:

Excelent find, sweet!

Wasn't there someone on here a few years ago looking for stripe measurements for a Street Coupe??? Looks like the same spacing. Capt, might want to light him up to this!

Update: err, I should have looked at the pics of a street coupe first, the paint gradient is further out to the fenders than this.

I think they just moved them.  alex on the forum is the Street Coupe guru.
